The Sound Devices MixPre-6 II multitrack field recorder is a perfect tool for independent filmmakers, field recordists, and Ambisonic lovers that want clear audio capture of up to four microphones (or any combination of these). While listening to music through headphones, record up to six tracks of external sources (two channels through a 3.5mm mini connector and four channels via XLR-1/4" combination jacks) as well as a stereo mix at sample rates and resolutions of up to 192 kHz / 32-bit. Sample rates of up to 96 kHz are possible if you decide to utilize the MixPre-6 II as your studio interface.

Compared to its predecessor, the MixPre-6 II has numerous improvements. The capacity to record at 32-bit floating point to an internal SD card is the most important of these features. Additionally, the device can be used as an audio interface that streams 32-bit floating point audio to a Mac computer via USB. You can almost never clip (distort) audio on the way in because of this.
